A postgraduate in Marketing, Adil has a vast 15+ years of experience in various aspects of media businesses, globally.
His media journey started with ‘The Times of India’ & ‘Mid-Day’ before he moved to ‘Zee Entertainment’ in India in 2007. Started from India, Adil’s portfolio extended to cover projects in MENA, Southeast Asia, Europe, Americas & Africa region. Over the years he has launched & been part of various revenue generating verticals and TV channels targeting Asian, Arab, Thai, German, African and Indonesian viewers.’
Currently based in Dubai, Adil has been responsible for developing strategic partnerships and creating new IPs in content. He launched the first ever locally produced program in UAE for Zee, ‘Zee Connect’, in Y2010 which is the longest running weekly current affairs & lifestyle show, currently airing its Season 12 on ‘Zee TV’. Also, understanding business beyond languages and geography, he launched ‘Zee Alwan’ for the Arab audience in MENA and ‘Zee World’ in Africa region.
Besides heading the South Asian & Arabic channels in MENA, leading their growth to be in the topmost watched channels in the region, Adil has been key in strategizing and implementing disruptive and profitable business models. He was instrumental in launching and leading the new co-production vertical of Arabic series in Y2017 and Y2022 will mark the beginning of movie co-production from Egypt further expanding Zee’s co-production portfolio.
His co-production division has successfully produced 5 drama series with Syrian, Egyptian & Lebanese artists, from which ‘Ser’ a Pan Arab Series was awarded at BroadcastPro Awards for the category of best adaptation of a foreign-language drama series into Arabic. He is currently working on 5+ new drama projects and a line-up of movies and planning a new milestone to produce the 1st Ramadan drama series & 1st Arabic web series in 2023.
Adil has been recognized as the Most Influential Content Marketing Professional by CMO Asia in 2016.
