Faraz Arshad

Faraz Arshad is the Chief Technology Officer at STARZPLAY, an industry trend-setter and innovator which is ranked consistently among the region’s top three subscription video on demand services.

With over 15 years of experience in innovative platform engineering and technical leadership, Faraz’s played a key role in launching STARZPLAY across the MENA region with technology at the helm of the business. Today, Faraz leads on transforming and accelerating business results for the company through shaping the technology strategy, budgeting, and developing with a strong focus leveraging the next generation of digitisation technologies.

His responsibilities include the Platform Engineering (Hybrid Cloud Architectures, Micro Services Development, Event Driven Architectures, Big Data, Cyber Security, Video Streaming & CDNs) in close collaboration with internal business, product & technology teams, and third-party integrators. A large part of his responsibilities also includes establishing IT operating guidelines & governance with the evolving service models of technology as well as operational expectations.

Prior to joining STARZPLAY, his 2nd Startup, Faraz was the Network and System Integration Manager at Qtelmedia Communications where he co-founded a first generation innovative mobile TV solution for Telcos & media houses.

Faraz holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Preston Institute of Management Sciences and Technology along with key industry certifications from EC-Council, Microsoft, Cisco & (ICS)2 CBK.
