Lina Matta


As Channel Director for MBC 2, MBC 4, Max & MBC+ Variety, Lina Matta coordinates the programming strategy and vision of the channels while working on achieving the ratings and financial targets set.
Prior to MBC, Lina re-launched Dubai One, DMI’s English language TV channel. She is also the co-founder of NY based, Brown Hats Productions. BHP produced two award-winning documentaries Running for Bogota and Prison Lullabies, an American online literary talkshow, Titlepage.tv, and the Arab film series, ANA Contemporary Arab Cinema, now in its 7th year.

Before BHP, and moving to Dubai, Lina worked as a news producer/director in Washington, DC. Lina sits on the Advisory Board of the Mohamed Bin Rashed School of Communication at American University in Dubai (AUD), is a voting member of BAFTA, and is on the selection committee of the UAE submission to the Foreign Language Film award category at the Academy Awards. Lina graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication Media from Beirut University College (now LAU) and has a Master in Film Production from Boston University.

She splits her time between New York, Dubai and Beirut.
