Drama Series
We want to see the best productions undertaken in the MENA region, and produced and edited by MENA residents (local or expatriate). We are primarily looking at drama series in this category. If films are submitted and we have enough nominations, we will look to create a new category for films.
We want to see the best unscripted productions undertaken in the MENA region, whether they be documentaries, game shows or reality TV shows, but they should have been produced and edited by MENA residents (local or expatriate). This award is for the quality of the content submitted.
If you have recently built a new studio for rental or your own production purpose, whether it is designed for radio, podcasts, video productions, VR/AR or gaming, we want to hear more about how you have kitted it out and what makes it unique enough to merit an award. It could be special fit-outs for different productions or a well-designed studio.
Who should apply: Production Houses/Rental Houses/Independent Filmmakers/Producers/Broadcasters.
Your submission should include technical details of the studio and why it deserves to win
With sport being such an important element within broadcast today, we invite entries from all players operating in this space. This is not restricted to broadcasters but also companies and entities that are involved in improving the stadium experience, producing sports content and creating a cutting-edge experience.
Who should apply: Broadcast end users/OTT players/ UGC players/ content producers, aggregators and distributors or even service providers who work in a broadcast capacity or provide similar services to broadcasters/telcos etc can participate.
Your submission should include comprehensive details on the initiatives or other reasons why your company deserves this award.
This award is aimed at acknowledging a specific project that deserves recognition in the market for being unique and taking the industry forward in terms of technology deployment. It needs to be a broadcast-related project but will accommodate traditional as well as new media platforms including Mobile TV, broadband, IPTV, distribution of content across different platforms and so on. The aim is to identify an award-winning project that has had a positive impact on the broadcast industry either within a specific Arab country, regionally or internationally.
Who should apply: Broadcast end users/SIs/web/user generated content players/ content aggregators and distributors or even service providers who work in a broadcast capacity or provide similar services to broadcasters/telcos etc.
Submission should include complete details/case study of the project or unique initiative and why it is unique in the region.
This award will recognise any broadcaster/OTT provider/ content generator/service provider that has undertaken a project in the region that is innovative and forward thinking and clearly makes them a frontrunner in the market.
Who should apply: Broadcasters/ OTT providers/ content aggregators/ content providers and service providers owned by public or private entities who work in a broadcast capacity or provide similar services to broadcasters/telcos etc.

With content being king, all platforms from broadcasters, streaming services, social media platforms as well as content companies are thinking up new ways to create content whether it’s planning originals, co-producing, bringing new content to the market, getting it dubbed, or even, packaging it for international audiences. Several companies have recently been involved in negotiating deals to bring international content to regional markets and vice versa. This space is open to anyone who has disrupted this space.
Who should apply: Open to all professionals in the MENA market who have been involved in creating a content strategy either for their broadcast networks, streaming services, social media platforms, or brokering deals between content owners and end customers.
Your submission should include comprehensive details on the initiatives or other reasons why your company deserves this award.
This award is only designed to recognise the works of innovative systems integrators who think out-of-the-box and have completed a recent project that is unique in terms of design and deployment. Box shifters need not apply. We will not look at the number of projects undertaken by a systems integrator although this may be considered if the SI is involved in a wide variety of projects that are quite unique from each other. The main consideration, however, will be the design and deployment of an innovative or trendsetting project that requires skill to put together. Please ensure that the contact details of the end user are included to verify any claims if this is a self nomination.

With streaming services entering the mainstream market this year, BroadcastPro would like to recognise an outstanding OTT professional who has turned around their OTT streaming service. We welcome nominations from any top OTT executive who has changed the game in the market with their streaming platform.

This award has been designed to recognise the best MENA technical project within our industry and it could also be a collaborative project between vendors and end users. With several international formats being licensed and adapted in the Arab world, we would like to see the best in this category for scripted programming and that includes drama series or other content produced and edited by MENA residents (local or expatriate).

We have a number of players in this space now – some old, with a kids’ channel and some new with a new business angle. Anyone who has created TV/radio offerings/apps/content/channels for children all the way from 1-16 are welcome to participate in this category.

We want to see how regional post-production houses/editors are changing programmes at the editing table. Your productions should have been edited by people (local or expatriate) residing in the Arab world. You could submit one production or multiple productions that showcase editing skill.
Who should apply: Post-Production Houses/animation houses/Editors/OTT players with originals/other related companies.
