Karim Morgan joined Asharq News in 2021 as Head of Digital Technology. In his role, Karim oversees all units responsible for software engineering and digital delivery including websites, mobile applications, smart TV applications, integration with broadcasting systems among other digital platforms, as well as operational initiatives that cater for the digital roadmaps of all brands.
Before joining Asharq News, Karim was the Chief Technology Officer at Abu Dhabi Media (ADM), where he headed all departments in the Technology Division comprising of over 600 employees. He also overlookedall strategic andoperational initiatives to cater for ADM’s wide variety of brands including 10 TV channels, 8 Radio Channels, and 4Publications.
Karim also held various prominent positions throughout his career. In 2019, he worked as General Manager of Digital Media at Rotana Audio Visual, where he led all departments including Content Operations, Publishing and Copyrights, Sales and Business Development, Marketing, and Research and Development, empowering them to explore potential unexploited markets to bring new business.
In the Middle East, Karim also held important roles at MBC and Al Arabiya TV, leading all departments
operations which comprise of software delivery on all platforms.
Prior to that and during his work experience in the United States of America, Karim worked in Walt Disney Internet Group, Lockheed Martin and Siemens Power Generation, as a Senior Software Engineer and a Database Developer.
Karim Morgan holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Master’s in Management Information Systems and Master’s in Business Administration.
