Tarek Mounir

Based in the UAE, Tarek Mounir has been spearheading the growth and expansion of Turner across MENAT since 2010. He brings a wealth of media broadcasting and production experience to this role after having spent over 10 years in the media industry as a presenter, producer and executive in charge of production on different projects ranging from high end TV commercials and long form animated series.

Through his leadership, Turner has successfully achieved robust financial growth, launched locally produced content and developed its offering with state of the art technology and innovations applied in setting new standards to engaging audiences in the kids, news and general entertainment channel segments.

Turner’s key achievements under Mounir’s stewardship include the launch of Cartoon Network Arabia Studios, a strategic partnership with beIN Media Group, the launch of Cartoon Network Hindi, moving channels such as Cartoon Network and Boomerang in to HD and dual language options, launch of channel websites and development of leading apps and games, first regional research on children’s entertainment behaviors with the Kids Compass study and the launch of Cartoon Network Zone at IMG World.

Mounir oversees Turner’s entire business in the region comprising channels on pay-tv platforms, ad sales of free to air Cartoon Network channels, content sales, licensing & merchandising and other activities utilizing Turner’s intellectual properties. He also manages all operations related to programming & creative, original productions, marketing & public relations, research and technical playout.

In his capacity, he also acts as a key liaison with local partners on identifying local content from across the region to drive Local channels through international markets.
