Afzal lakdawala is a certified PMP® with over 23 years of Broadcast Television experience focused on architecting, developing and managing Broadcast as well as Digital Infrastructure with a strong understanding of emerging technologies and how they are evolving. Recently he has completed his certification in Digital Transformation from MIT.
Afzal has been associated with the Broadcast Television industry since 1996 and have worked at international teleports in Singapore, Thailand, India and Dubai for launching and managing the technical infrastructure & operations of local as well as international TV channels at senior positions.
Currently working at Dubai Media Incorporated in Technical Support Sector and responsible for planning and project management of Engineering, Operations and Digital Media Projects.
Before joining DMI, Afzal worked at Arab Media Group as Director of Broadcast where he successfully designed and implemented AMG’s new Network Operations Centre in Dubai Studio City spanning across 3 buildings, featuring a custom built fully integrated file-based production, post production and playout infrastructure.
Prior to AMG, Afzal worked at Zee Entertainment as Vice President of Broadcast Services and was responsible for setting up Zee’s Broadcast Operations Centre in UAE to launch and manage its new channels as well as support the existing channels for the MENA region.
Prior to moving to UAE in 2005, Afzal worked with other television broadcasters in India where he was instrumental in setting up and managing broadcast infrastructure of Studios, Post Production, Playout, Teleport, etc.
