Ben Ross is Chief Content Officer for Image Nation Abu Dhabi. In late 2016 Image Nation launched the Culture China – Image Nation Content Fund, a film and television fund in partnership with the China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC). Roman J. Israel, Esq. was the inaugural feature film project for the venture. Recent Emirati-produced films, Ross has been responsible for include Emirati TV series Justice, Rashid & Rajab, and critically acclaimed Scales – winner of the Verona Film Club Award at the Venice International Film Festival in 2019.
Under Ben’s guidance as Chief Content Officer, Image Nation Abu Dhabi won seven various Emmy awards and also an Academy Award in 2019 for Best Documentary Feature for the film Free Solo, and was the first Middle Eastern based studio to have multiple local projects on the leading global streaming platform, Netflix.
Ben’s career started over two decades ago with Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin (No Country For Old Men) where he worked on such films at Clueless and Sabrina. He then spent several years working for the management/production Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, where he specialized in management, working closely with such clients as Brad Pitt and Courtney Cox.
After then working for director Martin Brest (Beverly Hills Cop, Scent of a Woman), Ben spent several years writing/directing/producing films on his own, including producing The Young Kieslowski (winner of the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival Audience Award).
