Karim’s esports journey is the embodiment of a true Dubai success story: Having started his first self-funded esports operation in the corner of a gaming cafe in Dubai in 2015, Karim’s companies now host global-scale gaming tournaments worth over $250,000 and live broadcasts with the industry’s biggest names, and they are largely credited with spearheading a shift in esports standards in MENA.
Cyber Sports League revolutionized the live streaming aspect of tournaments in MENA, placing heavy focus on production value and screen talent, while utilizing a community-centric approach.
Their efforts were recognized, and they were the first company regionally to have their streams placed on the front page of Twitch alongside global giant events – effectively placing MENA on the map for gaming live streams. This allowed them to generate unparalleled community engagement, and enabled them to foster the MENA esports ecosystem further.
Karim’s companies continue to pave the way in the field of esports tournament hosting and live streaming – basing much of their operations out of studios and venues in Dubai, priding themselves in trying new things that add value to the community with every tournament and live stream.
Since 2015, CSL has hosted more than 50 regional community events, tournaments and activations, with prize pools of over 300,000 USD and many qualifiers leading to international events.
As we speak, CSL and EGA are actively planning and executing multiple projects regionally, all in partnership with industry giants such as Epic Games, Ubisoft, Nvidia, Activision, and more.
