James Walmsley is a seasoned leader with an impressive track record in delivering product and technology solutions centered on creativity and innovation. At TOD, as the Director of Technology, Analytics and Products, James leads a high-profile team developing MENA’s first of its kind OTT platform to deliver the largest line up of exclusive sports and entertainment content in the region.
Prior to TOD, James was Director of Entertainment Products at Intigral; part of the wider STC Group serving both B2B and B2C customers throughout MENA. In his stint spanning close to seven years with the company, James brought several generations of Intigral’s video products to market, overseeing the redesign of their propositions under the current STC TV, Jawwy TV and Dawri+ brands.
Before arriving in the Middle East James held several senior roles in the UK media industry, from marketing and strategy to product development. As Head of TV Everywhere at BT TV, he established its digital product roadmap alongside BT Sport, and prior to that James was with Sky as Innovation Lead, contributing to projects including Sky Go and NOW TV.
A technology evangelist with over 17 years’ experience, James is a proven leader with a track record of delivering solutions for the digital transformation age, drawing on his deep knowledge of analytical applications, APIs, cloud and event-driven architectures. An avid traveler, James packs his holidays with overseas trips while maintaining an active lifestyle through wake surfing, snowboarding and even powered paragliding in his spare time.
